DEXA

DEXA (Dual-energy X-ray Absorptiometry) is a diagnostic test used to measure bone density. It is a tool used to detect and diagnose osteoporosis. DEXA scans can help determine risk for fracture, as well as the rate of bone loss and response to osteoporosis treatments. A DEXA exam takes approximately 10-15 minutes and is performed with the patient fully clothed.
